About Beverly Tobocman

Beverly Tobocman, ChFC, CLU, LIC is the registered securities principal and managing partner of JBT Financial, Inc., a financial services corporation located in Bloomfield Hills, MI.

Beverly launched JBT in 2003 after serving in the financial services industry for more than 30 years.   Beverly’s early entrepreneurial experience included the launch of BodyMotion, a Detroit area exercise studio in the late 1970’s.   In 1984, her undergraduate work in math and psychology and MBA in finance helped her land a position with Cigna, an $80 billion diverse financial service company.  There she studied the financial world and also learned how to attract and retain clients.  In 1989 Beverly struck out on her own, eventually forming JBT Financial, an off-site jurisdiction office of FSC Securities, Inc., a registered broker dealer and member of AIG Advisor Group, the largest financial services corporations in the world.  The company assists individuals, corporations and foundations in meeting their fiscal goals through financial planning, estate and business planning, tax reduction strategies, retirement planning, investment fiduciary, and charitable contributions and manages more than $1 million in assets.

Beverly is a member of the Society of Chartered Financial Counselors and is a Chartered Life Underwriter.  She served on the advisory board at the FSC from 2002-2004 and is a sought after speaker on the topic of women’s investment issues.    In addition, she is active in the community with young people, encouraging awareness of mental illness through her support of MINDS, the Mental Illness Needs Discussion Sessions, Think College Now, an organization helping low-income families to gain access to college and the Art of Leadership Organization which mentors inner-city children from elementary through high school.

Beverly has two children; Jeremy Olen, who became a partner with JBT Financial in 2003, and her daughter, Jennifer Scaglione who joined the firm in 2006.  In her free time she enjoys hiking, kayaking and cooking.
